Lately, I keep having nightmares about running into a colleague or client while wearing one of my boho/festival inspired summer outfits. I mean…could I really blame someone for not taking their crop top and cut-off short wearing lawyer seriously? I’m sure this moment of self introspection will pass, but in the meantime, I decided to go with something a little more mature for SDP’s birthday brunch in the West Village.
Dying to try out my new bright berry liquid lipstick, I had to choose a neutral toned outfit to keep things classy and under control (bright pink lips + bright outfit could easily = tack). So, I paired a tailored but roomy white jacquard sleeveless top with cream pleated bermuda shorts. To keep the outfit fun, I put on my favorite wide brimmed fedora, nude t-strap heels, taupe saddle bag, delicate gold body chain (who said all body chains have to be slutty) and black round sunnies. I put on a few rings, thick gold cuff and black stud earrings, and the look was complete.
