Studio Portrait Session

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of working with the very talented Will Star at his studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for a portrait session of a client who wanted headshots for her upcoming residency applications.

For the photos, she wanted to look polished and professional, but still natural.  As a base, I applied a thin layer of Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation (one of my favorite drug store foundations) in Porcelain Ivory to even her skin tone and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer  in Vanilla to cover any darkness under the eyes and to prep her eyelids for shadow.  For her eyes, I used a combination of shimmery nudes from NARS (including Abyssinia) on her eyelid to the eyebrow, then blended a medium and espresso brown (Mahogany 10 and Woodrose 33) from Bobbi Brown into her crease, lined her eyes with a bold line of black Sephora Retracable Waterproof Eyeliner, and finished with a generous application of black mascara. I filled her eyebrows with a light/medium brown eyeshadow for a softer look given her fair complication, contoured with Bobbi Brown Foundation Sticks in Alabaster and Walnut, swept a bright coral pink MAC blush for brightness and followed with Maybelline Face Studio Glaze cream blush stick in Just Pinched Pink for a nice lustre.  I finished the look with a nude lipliner and natural pink gloss. Here is a before and after. image2
