After another whirlwind NYFW experience, I’m so excited to share my looks from the week. Thankfully, the weather was cooperative – no snow storms and no freezing temps – permitting some Spring-inspired looks, including this one that I wore on my second day of shows. For a collective presentation by new designers at the Stewart Hotel, I decided to go with something a little more casual and 90’s inspired – especially since all runways indicated that the 90’s are here to stay for at least another season.
To create the look, I started with a bold vertical striped dress with crossover waist (totally reminiscent of those pretty hideous striped button down shirts or sweaters that all the dudes were wearing in the early episodes of Friends) that I paired with a few ultimate 90’s pieces – a black corduroy nautical hat, black combat-inspired lace-up platform boots and a drawstring pleated bucket bag. Because the temperatures were unseasonably warm, I opted for a black leather biker jacket to give the outfit a little edge.
