Nothing says Valentine’s Day like wearing red, but modern times call for modern silhouettes and I’ve put together a look that is appropriately romantic without being too literal. To create this red haute look, I’ve paired a deep red low v-neck bodysuit with contrasting floral embroidery with my favorite pair of deep indigo high rise super skinny jeans to accentuate the waistline and create a slim, lengthening silhouette. To keep the drama on high, I opted for super pointed black patent Christian Louboutin Breche 100 pumps. For accessories, I wore a shimmery gold medallion necklace to highlight the low neckline of the top and gold and black statement earrings (for the last few seasons, statement earrings have shied away from frills and incorporated more structured and bolder metallics as a play on traditional tribal and hoops). For visual contrast, I carried a mini leather bucket bag with inverted pleats and left the classic flap bag or clutch behind. Finally, to keep the overall look polished and glamorous, I opted for old Hollywood waves and a deep red lip by Nars (this lip pigment does not bleed or wear).
