After spending months planning the fine details of SDP’s “OH BOY” Baby Shower, we were confident that the event would turn out fabulously.  But, one critical piece remained – SDP’s look for the shower!

SDP wanted to find something that would compliment the rooftop garden venue and had a few ideas in mind – (1) bohemian mommy-to-be (i.e. floral print maxi + sandals), (2) ethereal angel maker (i.e. flowy white dress + flower crown), or (3) stylish NYC mama (i.e. floral sheath + killer heels)??? We ended up incorporating elements from all three looks.

Anyone who has searched or shopped for maternity-wear recently knows that the options are LIMITED (at best) and anything you like, you’ve seen on four other friends (bummer). So, finding something unique was no easy task.  After days of looking on the go-to maternity sites (and coming up empty) and non-maternity sites (with unrealistic intentions to tailor down to size), we turned to a more unconventional  option – ASOS Maternity – and found a pale blue, tailored cut-out sheath with floral details – garden perfection!  Despite being just about 7 months pregnant, SDP’s frame was still lean, so we decided on a more form fitting dress as to not drown her small frame or make her appear bigger than she is.

To complete the look and really kick up the style barometer, SDP paired her sheath with a par of nude Valentino Rockstud heels (be still my heart!), a little arm glitz, perfectly waved hair and the most darling flower crown.

Cuteness overload. Who said you can’t be preggo and fab?
