Gala Season: Emerald Green Knot Front Midi Dress, Emerald Tuxedo Blazer, Gucci Padlock Supreme Bag, Gold Block Heel Pumps and Vintage Jewelry
MY
It’s officially gala season in New York City and who doesn’t love getting fancy for a cause.
For a recent hospital gala (work requires I attend a few each season) that did not require black tie attire, I wore the most gorgeous emerald greenlook. Jewel tones are always a great choice for Fall evening events, but green, in all of its shades, is definitely a trend color this season.
Luckily, during Lulu’s NYFW party, I picked up the most beautiful emerald green knot front midi dress that I knew would be perfect for upcoming Fall weddings and galas. Delicately draped with a relaxed silhouette and high slit midi skirt, the dress is sexy without being overly so, especially for work related events. For a little coverage, I draped the most exquisite emerald green crepe tuxedo blazer with velvet lapels from PINKO.To complete the look, I boldly decided to go with accessories, bag and shoes that were a little unexpected for cocktail attire and focused on heavily gold pieces – vintage long mariner (puff) chain, Gucci padlock supreme bag, gold, black and pearl gothic cross earrings and gold stacked heel pumps. For a black tie or black tie optional event, I would have opted for a crystal/rhinestone clutch, rhinestone statement accessories and a pair of strappy heels.
The velvet lapels add a whole other dimension to this look.Playing with the same tone in different textures creates an overall interesting look.Introducing unique accessories is a great way to keep your look fashion forward.Draped silhouettes are so elegant.Playing up the vintage vibes.
Gold chain accessories give this cocktail look an edgier twist. So much movement in this midi skirt.Ready for a special evening.Green and gold make a great pair.Block heels are a great way to keep an otherwise classic look fresh and trendy.Drapes and more drapes.Clear umbrellas never detract from your look.High midi slit for some sex appeal.Who said cocktail attire can’t be trendy.
