All of you know that I have been OBSESSED with the embroidered trend since Gucci first put it on the map for Fall 2016, and that I haven’t stopped filling my closet with embroidered pieces since – bomber jackets, jeans, dresses, shoes, bags, etc. etc. etc. I just LOVE the Asian inspiration and details in all of it!
For Chinese New Year festivities earlier last month, I couldn’t wait to wear a champagne satin dress with floral embroidered back as a modern take on the traditional Cheongsam or Chipao (traditional Chinese dress). To keep the look Asian-inspired, I wore my hair straight and mid-parted and accessorized with vintage mother of pearl Miram Haskell earrings and gold and enamel bracelets and cocktail ring. But to keep the overall look from becoming too themey (no one wants that), I paired the dress with my black leather motorcycle jacket (for a little edge), the Gucci Padlock GG Supreme Shoulder Bag and gray suede thigh high boots.
