The Spring/Summer 2019 runways told us to expect fringe to make a major comeback and now that the season’s finally arrived, it’s officially time to try out one of this season’s hottest trends.
Whether as a subtle embellishment, like a pair of glitzy crystal fringe earrings or a beaded fringe evening bag, or as a statement piece, like a fringe jacket or full-fringe gown, fringe is sure to add texture and movement while turning up the “fashion” and drama. Call it a fashion prediction or perhaps my desire to revive another ’80’s trend (we all know we’re got to get through the entire decade before moving onto another), I had been eyeing down a few fringe pieces even before fringe hit the runways hard and picked up the cutest lilac (a major color trend for 2019) all fringe mini dress from ASOS early Summer 2018 (currently on super sale!).
Originally, I planned to wear it to a wedding related event in Lake Como, but ended up leaving the beauty at home with the hope of finding another suitable event in short order. Luckily, it’s officially wedding season and with weddings come bachelorette parties, and I was recently able to wear my fringe mini to NA’s bachelorette festivities and it was perfect for a night of dancing. To keep the glam factor high, but without overwhelming the look by over-accessorizing, I paired the dress with a pair of simple black velvet and rhinestone ankle strap sandals and the most glamorous crystal evening hard clutch with sapphire, filigree and beaded embellishment from Minza Khan. Finally, for something a bit unexpected and to keep the look fun and not too formal, I wore large resign shell earrings (shells are also a major 2019 trend – from puka shell chokers (yes, they’re officially back, but please don’t tell my husband because he need never wear one again) to half shell earrings).
