How to Wear Florals This Spring
I just can’t get enough florals for Spring and thanks to SS/19 runways (Prada, Louis Vuitton, Versace, etc. etc.), we’ll be seeing an endless variety of floral manifestations this season – from classic roses and rosettes to retro oversized patterns to Hawaiian motifs. In other words, there’s a floral print for everyone this Spring and I can’t think of a better way to honor the season.
A few weeks ago, I shared my current obsession with layered/tiered dresses and needless to say, the obsession continues. For day out and about in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I wore the most darling yellow floral layered dress with bow collar from Suggesty. This dress certainly has a bit more fabric than I’m used to and I was a little nervous that it might make me appear bigger/wider than I am, but thanks to great tailoring and strategic placement of frills and layers, it just looked lovely on and had the effect of creating some much needed height. To keep things dainty and bright, I opted for a bone colored, square top handle leather bag and gold block heel sandals. For accessories, I emphasized the current pearl trend and wore large gold and pearl hoops from Lili Claspe and pearl snap hairclips.
What could be more romantic and feminine than a tiered floral dress? All about pearl accessories this Spring. Dainty handbag completes the look. Can’t get enough bows and frills. Gold block heel sandals are the perfect Spring/Summer staple. Love the way these layers move. Structured bone colored handbag is a perfect compliment to yellow florals. Well appointed layers create dimension and height. Love how a few hairclips can drastically transform your hairstyle. It’s all in the dainty details – pearls, florals, frills and layers. Vintage vibes in historic Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
