This weekend, I attended a special event thrown by Angela Roi at Bene Rialto to check out their newest vegan leather designs and to talk about their recent partnership with ASPCA. Although, I admit, that I’ll continue to love and wear leather goods, I can absolutely appreciate a leather alternative, especially when its made beautifully and without sacrificing luxury or design. For this daytime event, I wanted to sport a little boho, free spirit flare and couldn’t wait to wear some new pieces I recently purchased to update my Spring wardrobe.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that bardot (aka off-the-shoulder) silhouettes and lace-up front anything are everywhere this season (and have been since last Fall), so when I found a peasant top that combined both styles, I had to have it for Spring. It’s no surprise that bardot silhouettes have made a major comeback, after all, they complement and slim just about any body shape and are super feminine without being overtly sexy. I paired my pretty off-the-shoulder, lace-up peasant top with black distressed skinny jeans to give the look a little rocker edge (for a 70’s inspired look, try this top with a a button front denim skirt or pair of wide-leg flares). To compliment the lace-up detail of the top, I wore black stacked heel suede lace-up sandals (the stacked heel makes this super sexy shoe comfortable). To complete the look, I wore a slouchy gold studded black tote, blue tassel earrings with gold detail and black oversized cat-eye sunglasses.
