With front row seats at both the Elie Tahari and Pamella Rolland Shows, Day 2 of New York Fashion Week required a standout “look.”
Day 2 of NYFW was an intense one with four shows, a backstage experience and of course events in between. Knowing I’d be sitting front row at two of my favorite designers’ shows upped the ante and I had to bring my A game. For my look, I wanted something classic and feminine with a bit of glamour, much like Tahari and Rolland’s designs.
To create my look for Day 2 of NYFW, I opted for a gorgeous gold on black polka dot, ruffled midi dress from Saloni that had just the right amount of vintage charm. To accentuate my waist with a little edge, I wore a studded black leather belt. For color, warmth and glamour, I draped a beautiful indigo hued wool coat with luxurious faux fur collar (purple and yellow are complimentary colors). For accessories, I wore leopard printed extreme cat eye sunglasses as an interesting juxtaposition against the polka dot print and a pair of oversized rectangular gold button earrings as to not distract from the mock neck of the dress. Finally, I completed the look with over the knee black suede boots as to not distract from the look.
Frenchette makes a great backdrop for a standout look. Nothing should ever be random. Pairing gold and indigo tones create a unique but complimentary look. Printed sunglasses and printed dress pair perfectly. Running to the next show! The ruffles provide just the right amount of movement and femininity. Kept the hair sleek and straight as to not distract from the rest of the look. NYFW intensity personified. Love the movement in this Saloni polka dot dress. Just in love with the silhouette, texture and dimension in this Saloni dress. Outside of Spring Studios, heading into Tahari. Ruffles are perfect for a a little shimmy. This indigo Novelti coat with faux fur collar is so luxurious. The studded belt helps to accentuate the waist and add a bit of edge to an otherwise demure look. Mock neckline and puff sleeves are so on trend. All about mastering your strut during fashion week. Simple, but gold accessories finish the look.
