Now that summer temps are finally upon us (the NYC weather gods have been less than cooperative), my brain has me thinking about one thing and one thing only – summer vacation mode (and of course, vacation style). So, in order to will my next major summer vacation into fruition, I’ve naturally started dressing the part. After all, a fashion girl can never be too prepared for her next stylish excursion.
This Spring, I was introduced to a new online purveyor, Indiigo Culture, who sources fabrics and partners with up-and-coming designers across Asia to create artisanal, sustainable and ethical pieces. Perhaps because much of the collection is sourced from exotic locales like Thailand, Tibet and Indonesia, their items seem to exude holiday and I couldn’t wait until the weather in NYC permitted to show off my new pieces.
For my first major Summer Saturday/Vacation Ready look, I wore a super breathable dark teal leaf print open back jumpsuit that I paired with a wide brimmed straw fedora that I picked up during the winter months at City Hats while dreaming of summering in St. Tropez (this place is a hat lover’s dream). For shoes, I opted for white pointed toe slingback wedges that my dear CM picked up for me the last time he was in Milan (at Milan’s best kept secret Marco Calzature store – please ship to the US!). Finally for accessories, I carried a beaded tote that I embellished with a tropical toucan print silk scarf, wore hand crafted gold drop earrings that incorporate chili flakes (I know, how appropriate for my spice loving self) and layered gold coin necklaces.
