BL was in town for a short visit from Chicago and wanted a night out with the girls on the LES – fancy din followed by a little bar hopping – and I was happy to venture a little further downtown than usual and try a look with little more downtown edge. These days, I don’t often find myself out to the wee hours (oh, how I miss those nights), so I was excited to wear an edgy night look for the occasion.
I recently purchased this amazing western inspired black leather and double gold buckled belt and knew I had to make it the centerpiece of my look. Whenever I think western, I also think leather and fringe, so I pulled out my staple black leather moto jacket and navy suede fringe bag. To keep the rest of the outfit simple and modern (after all, I didn’t want to be too literal about the western-inspo), I wore a black lack trim v-neck bodysuit (low front, low cross-back and lace…don’t mind if i do), super dark wash bell bottom jeans and simple black point toe pumps. For accessories, I wore evil eye inspired gold and enamel drop earrings, Dior cat eye sunglasses, and a brass snake cuff. Oh and finally, I tried out a new hair trend – the halfup top knot (perfect for when your hair is just a little tousled and dirty (i.e. after work and there’s no time to wash) and still want to wear your hair down).
