From tops to dresses to jumpsuits, TIE-FRONT IS THE SILHOUETTE OF THE SEASON.
I admit, tie-front pieces can be a little tricky to wear (expect to go braless or master your stickies) and you’ll have to be willing to show a little extra skin (yes, we’re talking serious midriff exposure) to pull off the look, but what better time to try a sexy new trend than during the summer months when skin-baring looks are seasonably appropriate. I, myself, have not graduated to the cropped tie-front top and may never be daring enough to get there, but as an introduction to the trend (and you all know I can’t pass on a trend), I bought the slightly modified version – a cute mini dress with tie-front neckline and elbow-length sleeves.
So, on a recent weekend jaunt to Brooklyn, I wore a blue floral tie-front dress that has the prettiest ruffle trim details with my favorite wide brimmed straw hat. To up the summer factor, I carried a Portuguese basket bag (yes, the one you have all been asking about) and wore clear stacked heel acrylic sandals (as discussed in last week’s post, clear shoes = must have for summer). Finally, for something a bit unexpected and edgy, I wore black and gold tassel earrings.
