Yes, I know…berets have been widely worn since the early 19th century, but right now, they are totally on trend and your fall must-have accessory (say goodbye, at least for this season, to those wide brimmed fedoras). Just about every one of your favorite celebrities and street style stars have been spotted wearing this classic accessory since Paris Fashion Week and the best part of this trend? They are totally versatile – wear it with your best athleisure, tailored blazer and jeans, or red carpet look.
For a recent blogger event, I couldn’t wait to whip out my deep caramel beret that I bought in Paris a few years ago (when it was totally pre-trend and I was desperately trying to look effortlessly Parisian). For the rest of the look, I decided to go with something more casual and wore a heather gray front knotted high-low maxi top, vintage denim button up flare jeans with raw hem, and a classic black leather motorcycle jacket. For accessories, I opted for Gucci (always a great compliment for rich caramels and browns) and wore a double GG buckle belt and padlock GG supreme shoulder bag. Finally, for something really unexpected, I wore bright red sock booties (another Fall trend favorite).
