If there’s anything that filled the Fall/Winter runways and streets this NYFW, it was statement cuffs and I’m living for it.
Statement sleeves have been a thing for a few seasons now, but the focus is now on the cuffs, especially on coats and jackets. In fact, the trend has become so popular that detachable cuffs are becoming readily available to trim, update and transform pieces you already own (check out these awesome faux fur zipped cuffs from Mango that are perfect for pairing with your favorite wool coat, denim jacket or sweater).
For my first show this NYFW, I opted for a more casual look where the focus was all on my Marissa Webb bomber jacket with the most perfectly dramatic two toned faux fur cuffs and cropped silhouette. To keep all eyes on the jacket, I wore a classic black knit turtleneck and high-rise paperbag waist jeans. For accessories, I opted for a Nina Ricci grey rectangular tote, brushed gold hoop earrings and Stella McCartney extreme cat eye sunglasses.
Casual start to NYFW in denim and this statement bomber jacket. Two toned oversized faxu fur cuffs make the look. Simple grey tote in a unique silhouette completes the look. Kept the focus on the coat by pairing with a simple knit turtleneck and denim. Faux fur collar and cuffs makes any girl look and feel cuter. Pairing the gray bag highighlighted the gray tone of the faux fur cuffs. Love a paperbag waist jean for some visual interest. The bomber’s cropped silhouette pairs well with a high-waisted jean. Incredible shot by the very talented Stephanie Poulos. Oversized extreme cat eye sunglasses complete the look with some edge. I carried a medium sized tote to carry all the NYFW essentials – camera, backup chargers, additional accessories, water, etc. Loving this luxe faux fur. Rolled cuffs give the ankles a little visual interest. Love the mix of neutral tones in this unique bomber. Statement cuffs call for statement backdrops. On the way to the next show.
