Sundays are the best days… and this summer, I’ve been trying to spend a bit more time beach-side, but on days where the weather isn’t permitting or I just want a little break from the sun, you’ll find me up to my usual brunchin’ somewhere in the city.
And, if you know me, a good brunch requires a good outfit and I couldn’t wait to wear my favorite new LBD that I picked up a few weeks ago while purchasing a few other looks for our upcoming trip to LA. For this Sunday brunch look, I paired a black backless skater dress with the cutest ruffled straps with a wide brim tan straw hat (nothing says summer like a straw hat) and nude knotted leather slides. I’m particularly enamored with this LBD because of its skater silhouette, which is super flattering for all body types (especially if you’re pear shaped) and creates the illusion of a tiny waistline. For accessories, I layered a few delicate gold necklaces and wore large gold hoop earrings. Hoop earrings have always been in style, but there has been a bit of a resurgence in their popularity this season and I took full advantage of my vintage hoop earring collection dating back to the early 2000’s. Finally, I carried my round rattan basket bag (I told you this baby would be on repeat all summer) for that extra bit of summeryness.
