The Faux Shearling is the “It” Coat That Your Fall/Winter Wardrobe Has Been Seeking.
There’s nothing like upgrading your Fall/Winter wardrobe with the perfect “it” coat. I know, there are certainly a few other silhouettes that have taken over the runways, pinterest boards and your insta feed (like the full length teddy or oversized puffer), but few are as wearable, versatile and accessible as a faux shearling. Thanks to fashionistas and consumers becoming more animal-cruelty conscious, faux shearlings are everywhere in a variety of colors and silhouettes and have not compromised on style.
Last year, on a stroke of luck, I picked up a classic black faux shearling during Zara’s end of season sale for under $50 (I know…I’m still excited about it). Not only is it warm, but the coat is super versatile (everything goes with black) and elevates every winter outfit, no matter how simple. To showcase my coat, I recently wore mine with a basic black ribbed turtleneck and light wash mom jeans. To add a little personality, I wore a studded black leather western buckle belt, gold chain duster earrings (if I haven’t said it enough, Forever 21 and Mango have THE BEST fashion accessories) and snakeskin chunky heel booties. Finally, I completed the look with classics – black and metal framed MVMT sunglasses (USE MY CODE: styledbymy15 for 15% off your purchase) and my favorite black mini Prada satchel.
Classic black faux shearling elevates a simple outfit. Snakeskin booties help to add a little visual interest to a simple outfit. Turtlenecks are a great backdrop to a pair of statement earrings like these chain dusters. Every outfit benefits from a little waist enhancement. Here, I’ve opted for a studded black leather belt with western buckle. To keep things classic, I opted for a mini top handle Prada satchel. Love these simple metal framed glasses from MVMT. I love wearing light wash against black for contrast. Huge fan of mixing silver and gold tones. Simple outfit made exponentially more stylish with this “it” coat. Classic black turtleneck should be part of everyone’s winter wardrobe. This “it” coat is also super warm for winter. Snakeskin and python footwear are still going strong. Keeping the accessories interesting.
