Nothing says Springtime like a pretty floral dress, but this season, I’m particularly drawn to a major Spring trend – the layered dress – whether simply tiered or embellished in a sea of ruffles – layers are a fresh way to add dimension and romance to a Spring staple.
And, the best part? The styling options are endless! Wear a layered dress with sandals when the temps get a tiny bit warmer, a pair of boots or booties or cool white sneakers for a more casual vibe.
For a recent day out and about in the Meatpacking District, I couldn’t wait to wear a blue floral tiered dress with the softest ruffles from waist to hemline and romantic lantern sleeves. To emphasize the waistline and give the look a little western vibe, I opted for a thick wide double buckle brown suede belt (from Forever 21 that looks like a million bucks). For shoes, because the temps are not quite yet warm and to add some visual interest and dimension, I wore python over the knee boots. Although I admit, these python boots are a daring choice, so long as the hue is in line with the other pieces of your outfit, together they will create a cohesive look. Finally, to complete the look, I carried my vintage hobo Fendi zucca bag, wore classic YSL cat-eye sunglasses and gold twist earrings.
Nothing says romance like tiers of ruffles. Love my vintage Fendi Zucca Hobo from The Real Real. I’m all about mixing patterns from floral to monogram to python. A pop of color in a bold hue adds visual interest. Python boots and floral make and interesting pair. Give me all the ruffles! Shopping in the Meatpacking District followed by brunch. Style is all about taking measured risks. When in doubt, go bold. Processed with VSCO with g7 preset
