I am so excited to tell you all about my shoot for Angela Roi and the timing is particularly special as the blog approaches its one year anniversary since its first ever “fashion” post. What better way to mark this first anniversary than with a special feature and some gorgeous photos by Stephanie Sunderland?
For those of you who have been following me on this awesome journey, you’ve likely noticed an evolution of the blog, from one that was focused almost primarily on DIY and Event Planning to one that explores my love for fashion. When I embarked on this little blog project, I always wanted it to be fashion focused, but the timid and uber-perfectionist in me was deathly afraid of failure or worse yet, general disinterest. Thankfully (and for that I am so grateful), the fashion posts have proven to be my most popular and led to a number of amazing opportunities, including meeting and working with some incredibly talented individuals.
A few weeks ago, the Angela Roi team reached out to me about being featured for their current campaign that focuses on the personal style of women and young professionals who have proven to be style influencers, and I was thrilled! If you aren’t familiar with Angela Roi, they are a handbag brand that is 100% animal-free and sweatshop free – who wouldn’t love and applaud that! And, part of the proceeds from each purchase goes to a specific cause. For the campaign, I would be featuring two of their handbag designs (of my choice) and was given the freedom to style my own outfits (how fun!). Here is the first of the two looks!
The Sunday Tote II is classic design that is perfect for work or a refined weekend event, and I wanted an outfit that reflected exactly that. I don’t often think of jumpsuits as appropriate work-wear, but I recently purchased a long sleeve, open back black jumpsuit with a modest v-neck that is really versatile and knew that with the right jacket, I could take it effortlessly from work day to night event. To cover the sexy open back and for a little contrast, I went with a cream tweed jacket with fringe details for a Chanel-inspired look. To compliment the gray tote, I opted for gray suede pumps and to keep the overall look classic, I wore pearl studs, two-toned cuff and black oversized cat eye sunglasses.
A special thank you to the incredibly talented Stephanie Sunderland for these beautiful photos and for making the process absolutely effortless!
