Mommin’ isn’t easy, but I’m a firm believer that looking good goes a long way to feeling good about motherhood, yourself, and life in general.
Yes, motherhood changes things, including the way you dress – but it doesn’t mean that you can’t be stylish while practical. On a recent sunny Saturday afternoon running around the city with baby in tow, I decided to give the New York all-black uniform a little mom update. I wore a black long sleeve bodysuit with a pair of high-waisted black skinny jeans and my favorite black leather motorcycle jacket. For shoes, I opted for the Nothing Was the Same Ankle Boot from Seychelles. Even though these gorgeous boots are heeled, their padded soles and rubber bottoms make this pair totally wearable for a day of walking (even while pushing a stroller and an undercarriage full of shopping bags). Finally, I was excited to swap out my backpack diaper bag for my new Rebecca Minkoff x Medela carry-all tote. My breastfeeding days are over, but this bag not is not only designed to fit Medela breast pumps, but doubles as a super lightweight diaper bag with all the dividers and compartments you need to keep baby’s innumerable things organized. For accessories, I wore oversized aviator sunglasses and a black jaanuu mask on an acrylic tortoise chain. I’m finding mask chains essential to keeping my mask clean (and away from touching surfaces) and from being snatched and tossed by a wiggly baby.
