Vintage is all the rage right now — from band tees to jeans to old school monogram on just about everything. So, for CM’s midweek birthday dinner and drinks in Hell’s Kitchen a few weeks ago, I knew this look would be perfect for the occasion — just enough grit for HK, but still chic and pulled together enough for a bday celebration.
Ever since the celebs first started wearing vintage band tees as a go to fashion item in Spring/Summer 2016, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one myself. Luckily, while hanging in The Haight in SF last Fall, I picked up a Rolling Stones tee with the classic lips logo and during a trip to Woodstock this past winter, I nabbed an iconic black and white Ramones tee. For my Tuesday night jaunt, I went with my slightly oversized black Ramones t-shirt, casually tucked into my go-to high-waisted vintage jeans with raw stepped hem, black suede super-high platform heels for extra height and a black longline double breasted blazer to keep the look tailored. To play up the rocker vibe, I wore a double gold bucklet belt (which somehow makes every outfit appear instantly cooler) and to max out the vintageyness, I used my monogram Gucci Padlock GG Supreme Shoulder Bag. For accessories, I kept things simple with a gold disc choker and black double bridge sunglasses.
