I don’t know about you, but I’ve been minimally motivated to get dressed during these days at home.
For the first few days, I relished in leggings and sweatpant bliss. But as the novelty wore, and the realization that I hadn’t gotten out of my pajamas in days finally set in, I knew it was time to make a shift back to normalcy.
Putting on a little makeup and doing my hair always makes me feel better, more productive and more like myself. So, on what felt like day 99 of quarantine, I got it together and got dressed in my best loungewear look. With nowhere to go, but the next room to grab a glass of wine for a houseparty happy hour, the goal was to elevate my at home look while staying comfy. Luckily, even before we found ourselves in this surreal Covid world of social distancing, loungewear was definitely a trend and I had picked up a few loungey pieces knowing I’d be home more often than not during my maternity leave.
One of my favorite loungewear looks is a long open cardigan and cropped cami set paired with your favorite mom or high-waisted jeans- perfectly reminiscent of the 90’s. For my look, I wore a gorgeous cream cardigan set with my favorite pair of high-waisted wide leg white jeans (my first attempt at wearing pre-pregnancy jeans and they fit!) and wore the most glamorous drop pearl earrings that I wore to my baby shower last Fall and the Louis Vuitton pendant that Bugsy got me for Valentine’s Day. Lastly, for a brief moment or two, to be sure I still remembered how to walk in heels, I threw on my classic white Manolo Blahnik BB pumps.
