Perfectly Coordinated: How to Wear Matching Sets

on

Getting dressed should be as effortless as possible and nothing makes putting a look together easier than a matching set (aka co-ord or two-piece).

Co-ords or two-piece sets have been popular for a few seasons- whether its a top and pant, top and skirt or top and short – but I happen to be particularly enamored with them since pregnancy, especially since many sets have conveniently stretchy waistlines/bottoms.

As the bump grows, I’ve been finding it ever more difficult to wear jumpsuits/rompers (a usual favorite), but co-ord sets allow a bit more flexibility while delivering a similar look. In fact, just a few weeks ago, I was heading to a friend’s rehearsal dinner and I opted for a black crinkled tank and pant set from Zara that successfully gave me the tailored look of a black jumpsuit, but the comfort of pajamas (#success).

The beauty of this particular set during these maternity months is the elastic waistband of the jogger pants. Currently, they fit comfortably over my natural waist and I was able to tuck the matching black crinkled tank top with ruffle detail. But they’ll also be super cute below the belly when the bump gets bigger. To dress up this otherwise casual set, I wore my favorite pearl and rhinestone fringe earrings from Lili Claspe, pearl and filligree Bano minaudiere with gold snake chain from Minza Khan and rhinestone and black suede sandals. For a more casual look, the set could be worn untucked with flat sandals and a tote.
