Lately, I’ve been challenging myself to create looks with pieces I already own (no easy feat for a gal who loves buying all the new trend items). Creating something new, fresh and still on trend with older pieces can be challenging, but succeeding is not only fun (at least for me), but a testament to the versatility of your pieces and helps to identify which items are truly classic and timeless.
For a recent holiday dinner at Minetta Tavern, I wanted to wear something Parisian inspired to suit the venue and fare. To create the look, I wore a caramel colored beret (Honeymoon in Paris, 2014) that I paired with a sienna crochet top (Joe Fresh, 2012) and black pleated midi skirt (ASOS, 2013). For accessories, I wore a Gucci Web Belt with Double GG Buckle (Christmas 2016), Gucci Padlock Supreme Bag (December 2016) and gold button earrings (Colorado Street Fair, Summer 2016). Finally, I pulled the look together with two very classic pieces, a pair of black patent stiletto heels (Clarks, 2015) and black cape (Forever 21, 2010).
