I love a classic holiday look – red, green or sparkles. But, this season, I’ve tried to be more inventive in my interpretation of festive and relied a bit more on texture and tone to create looks that are more modern.
For a mid-week, post-work, holiday dinner, I decided to create a monochromatic silver/gray toned look. During NYFW SS18, I attended an awesome event thrown by Lulus at the Eventi Hotel and luckily for all guests, each attendee received a clothing item of their choosing and I quickly nabbed a sexy two-piece heather gray knit dress with crossover neckline. I just knew this set would be perfect for a dinner out in the city once the temps got a bit colder. For shoes, I wore my favorite pair of navy velvet over the knee high heel boots (what could be more holiday than velvet). As a topcoat, I opted for an old favorite, an Ann Taylor two-tone gray cocoon coat. To keep the look sophisticated, I wore Vintage Chanel Gold CC clip-on earrings, Chanel Gold and Pearl Brooch on my coat lapel and classic black cat eye sunglasses. Finally, I carried a slate gray round double handle bag from In the Bag (if you haven’t checked them out, they have designer inspired bags at fantastic prices).
