Mirina Collections Photo Shoot

I am so excited to tell you all about my photo shoot with jewelry company, Mirina Collections, this past week in NYC. I first noticed their gorgeous designs a few months ago after the company started following me on instagram, shortly after I started the blog. Their designs are awesomely intricate and bold (definitely not for those who like a more subtle look), but if you’re looking for a true statement necklace to add to your collection, you definitely have to check out their pieces.

For this week’s shoot, we braved (painfully) wintry NYC weather to show off the company’s new choker line, which I absolutely LOVE. The new line is a slight departure from their original designs, think sleeker, less glitzy, more metal and a lot more Kim K, and VERY VERY ME, so I was thrilled to be a part of their big launch. I also had the opportunity to get to know the owners/designers of the line, the cutest husband and wife team, more intimately. Fun fact: All of their pieces are handmade in NYC (go USA!) and many of their iconic pieces that incorporate coins into their designs are authentic and shipped straight from Turkey (love that).

With a few parameters (all black, sleek hair and boots), the girls being featured in the shoot styled themselves, which really helped to show the versatility of the pieces since we each had such different styles. I, not surprisingly, went for a super Kanye-era Kim K/pseudo Karl Lagerfeld inspired look. I slicked my hair back into a tight low bun and went for a glowy, contoured face with defined eyes. To be sure that the necklaces would stand out, I wore my favorite American Apparel Cross Low V Neck Bodysuit (if you don’t have it, you need to get it…always effortlessly sexy and super duper flattering) and paired it with an A-Line Leather Mini Skirt. To keep things super sleek, I wore black opaque tights and suede over-the-knee boots. And, for a finishing touch, I brought along a tailored black blazer to throw over my shoulders.

For the shoot, I featured a few of the new choker designs, including the Beverly and the Paris, some of their new sunglasses, the Mirina and the Duffy, and a gorgeous cocktail ring.
