I saved the best look for last.
My third look for the maternity shoot was completely impromptu, but might just be my favorite of the three. I had the idea of using fabric to create a couture look and Steph arrived on the day of the shoot with an arm full of black tulle. I’ve seen countless gorgeous maternity photos using draped satin or silk, but we didn’t have any on hand and at 38 weeks pregnant, I simply was not up for a run to the fabric store. But, the tulle turned out more beautifully than I could have ever expected, creating a truly haute couture look.
Steph and I (mainly Steph) wrapped endless yards of black tulle around me, tucked, tied and cut where necessary for dimension and shape until we were satisfied with the final dramatic look. I think the photos speak for themselves and am in awe of the fine art quality of the final shots.
