A few weekends ago, I met up with the girls for dinner at one of our fave tapas bars, Sala One Nine (amazing to think that I’ve been coming here since my NYU college days), for our monthly standing date and a little late birthday toasting for our JY.
Since I was heading over straight from the office, I needed a work appropriate day to Friday night look. To keep things relatively tame and professional, I wore a slightly boxy short-sleeve white button down (that I could easily transition from day to night by unbuttoning a few top buttons) with a pair of high waist black skinny trousers and black suede platform booties (for some extra height). To keep the look interesting, I wore one of my favorite statement pieces of the season – a faux fur thick leopard coat (that I luckily picked up on super sale from Zara a few weeks ago). The leopard coat has been everywhere this Fall/Winter and admittedly, it’s not the easiest piece to pair, so for those of you who are risk-averse, but are dying to try out this trend, wear it with classic solid pieces (i.e. white, black or denim tops and bottoms) to avoid too many competing patterns and colors. To complete the look, I wore a pair of black double bridge sunglasses, black leather bucket bag, vintage gold earrings and my favorite gold and pearl cuff from Majorica (that I purchased during our trip to Mallorca, Spain).
