Last weekend, the girls decided to get together for some holiday fun – ice skating in Bryant Park, shopping at the Christmas markets, and ending with a festive dinner at Rolf’s. Unfortunately, some (or most) of those grandiose plans fell through due to the crazy crowds that were drawn to the city’s unseasonably warm (but very much welcome) weather. But, foiled plans did not stop us from looking our cutest for what turned into an all day holiday drink-fest.
Before our day of festivities, I asked the girls (if so inclined) to wear “holiday inspired” outfits to be featured in this week’s blog, and Sis and SDP enthusiastically obliged. Here are three super cute, but different takes on “holiday inspired” looks to help you get dressed this holiday season.
Hipster Holiday
Due to a little mishap involving the puglet and my right eye the morning before heading out, I had to forgo contacts (to my utter dismay) for the day. And, since my black Barton Perreira Ava glasses always seem to give me a little hipster flare, I decided to play up the look with a quintessential hipster favorite – plaid – and wore a black and red check shirtdress. To complete the look, I threw on my favorite black leather bomber and paired it with black opaque tights, black suede stacked heel booties, my classic flap Chanel bag and a very bright red lip.

Holiday Neutrals
For SDP’s “holiday inspired” look, she went for a sleek all grey outfit. I absolutely love the new trend of wearing a series of neutrals together and like to think of it as a new take on classic winter whites. To achieve the look, SDP paired an oversized grey sweater with grey 7 for all Mankind skinnies and black suede riding boots. On top, she wore a light grey swing coat that she scored in Barcelona that has the most gorgeous gold details. Of course, no great outfit is complete without a sick bag and SDP broke out her brand spanking new Chloe Drew bag for the occasion. For a finishing touch and just a little holiday glimmer, she layered a few long gold chain necklaces.

Holiday Sparkle
Sis went for a more classic holiday look and brought out the sparkle with a cowl neck sequin sweater dress. What could be more festive than a little sequin and shimmer? To keep the outfit from getting too busy, but still luxe, she complimented with mainly black, by pairing the dress with black opaque tights, black over-the-knee boots and a fur collared black coat. To finish the look, she threw on a pair of classic oversized Gucci sunnies.
