PARTY BRUNCH...I admit, I don’t frequent it quite as much as I once did (it’s probably for the best), but when I do, I’m reminded of how brilliant the concept is…breakfast goodies alongside flowing champagne and a heavy side of dancing…what’s not to LOVE? So, when talks of party brunchin’ resurfaced lately, I couldn’t wait to put together a look to make a statement for my foray back – something that exudes fun and flirty, but still daytime appropriate.
I’ve always been a fan of ruffles, but this season, it’s all about BOLD RUFFLES – from Valentino to McQueen – they were all over the Spring/Summer runways – whether cascading down the shoulders, spiraling off the hips or layered all over – oversized and architectural ruffles form the perfect base for a dramatic look – day or night. Luckily, during Zara’s end of season super sale, I picked up the perfect striped one shoulder ruffle top with the most voluminous ruffles I have ever worn (to Bugsy’s great concern) and paired it with my favorite distressed denim cutoff shorts. To up the fun factor, I wore gold tiered orb earrings and a signature Gucci web belt. Finally, to keep the look summery, I carried a round rattan basket bag (I told you this beauty would be on repeat this summer) and lucite blocked heels.
