Festival Flare: Lace-Up Front Crop with Bell Sleeves, Distressed Denim Cutoffs, Medallion Choker and Platform Sandals

It’s festival season – that time of year when hippie/flower child inspiration runs wild. And, even if you won’t be spinning around at Gov Ball or Coachella this summer, who said you can’t incorporate some of that care-free boho flare into your wardrobe? Denim cut-offs, headbands, fringe, bohemian frocks, quirky sunnies…all make the list for festival fashion essentials, but how do you borrow some of those fun elements without looking completely insane? See how I put this festival inspired look together for a summer Saturday in NYC with Sis.

A few months ago, I fell back in love with Forever21. It’s been years, and I mean years since I’ve shopped there (circa early 2000’s), but on my search for trendy items that I just did not want to spend a lot of money on, I was led back and I couldn’t be happier. To be honest, I had forgotten how low the price point is and how perfect it is for finding super trendy items that you know you won’t wear next season. So, with my eyes set on incorporating a little festival flare into my summer wardrobe, I knew I could find some essentials there.

A few weeks ago, I purchased the cutest crinkle woven crop top with lace up front and bell sleeves (could it be more perfectly hippie dippy) that I couldn’t wait to wear with a pair of distressed denim cutoffs and super high platform cork wedge sandals for some much needed height. To complete the look, I wore a multi-layer medallion choker (no we are not too old for chokers or at least I won’t let myself be), oversized light pink round sunglasses and a light pink-toned saddle bag. I kept the rest of the look simple with nude lips and minimal jewelry because nothing is more egregious than wearing too many trends or too much jewelry.
