After admiring the fun, layered fall outfits in J.Crew’s windows all week while on my walk to the office, I couldn’t help but try one out myself for brunch last Sunday in the West Village. The weather was just right for a layered, but still tights-free outfit, and was just cold enough for me to break out my new favorite western inspired ankle boots.
To create this prep inspired look, I wore a cerulean blazer (with the sleeves rolled up), my favorite chambray shirt from J. Crew and my new faux leather A-line skirt from Zara (I didn’t want to get too preppy). To keep things weekend appropriate (and not too workish), I paired the outfit with a cerulean cross-body saddle bag and western inspired point toe ankle boots from Lucky Brand. For accessories, I wore oversized custom cushion cut citrine stud earrings (that Bugsy got me for our first anniversary…yea, he’s good) and chunky square sunglasses from ASOS.
Style Note: To transform this look from weekend brunch to work, just switch out the saddle bag for a tote and ankle boots for a pair of flats or pumps.
