Easy Transitions: Pink Plaid Puff Sleeve Top, Mom Jeans, and YSL Slides

on

After an intense weekend of baby prep, I started scrolling through photos taken over the course of the last few months and stumbled upon a look that I absolutely LOVED, but somehow forgot to post on the blog. Luckily, as the seasons begin to change from Summer to Fall, this look that I put together in early Spring seemed perfect for the currently transitioning temps in NYC and it reminded me of just how amazingly life can change in a few short months.

I remember the day these photos were taken and getting dressed that morning thinking I could already notice a slightly fuller waistline in my favorite pair of mom jeans. It was only days after we found out we were expecting, but it was far too early to tell, both physically and verbally to family and friends. A little over six months later, I will not be transitioning my wardrobe this Fall with the help of my favorite pair of mom jeans (major bummer), but I’m happy to report that this look is still very much Fall ready.

A super trendy look to try this season (if you haven’t already been doing so) is pairing a romantic puff sleeve top (like this pink plaid one from Urban Outfitters with some extra ruffle detail and flouncy waistline) with a pair of high-waisted jeans (like my favorite mom jeans from Monki). This combination is a surefire way to create an edgy, yet feminine silhouette – little waist, strong shoulders and long legs (who doesn’t want that?). For a transitional shoe, I wore burgundy leather heeled slides from YSL. Finally, for accessories, I wore YSL tortoise flat topped sunglasses and a delicate personalized gold necklace from Atelier Paulin.
