Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
I don’t know about you, but I’m still basking in the glory of knowing a regular American girl just became a princess. #dreamscometrue
In celebration of the Royal Wedding, De Beers hosted a private event to introduce their latest bridal collection and I had the pleasure of trying on princess worthy-diamonds (including the most spectacular 42 carat diamond necklace and 30 carat diamond engagement ring) while sipping champagne. Like I said, #dreamscometrue.
For the event, I wanted a modified royal wedding guest ensemble and opted for a tailored, garden-party inspired but elegant look with a little NYC flare. To create the look, I paired a romantic double-breasted lace blue blazer from PINKO (currently on SALE!) with white wide-leg culottes (yes, they are the same pair that I have been wearing again and again – one of favorite, most versatile pair of trousers – I’ve worn them with everything from a simple t-shirt to a glitzy top to this blazer). To give the outfit a little edge, I wore white acrylic large hoop earrings and the PERFECT pair of rhinestone toe clear stiletto pumps. Finally, I carried a vintage Ferragamo envelope clutch and wore black classic cat-eye sunglasses.
Style Tip: Try wearing your blazer in a nontraditional way by forgoing a layered look and making the blazer a top. For a super sleek silhouette, pin the lapels to your desired neckline. For a sexy look, try wearing your blazer with a delicate worthy-to-be-seen bra.
