Denim on Denim: Chambray Shirt, Boyfriend Jeans, Studded Christian Louboutin Heels and Croc Bucket Bag

Earlier this week, I was meeting MM and MB for happy hour oysters and martinis  in the West Village and wanted to wear something casual but still chic. Bugsy loves to makes fun when I’m sporting the Canadian Tuxedo, but what does he know about fashion anyway?  I absolutely love denim on denim and put this timeless combo together with a few special pieces.

Chambray shirts come in variety of colors and shapes, but I absolutely love my Ex-Boyfriend Shirt from Madewell that I bought almost three years ago.  The beautiful thing about denim shirts is that they get softer and fit better with wear (just like your favorite pair of jeans), and one that has a slightly oversized fit will keep your outfit from looking contrived.  For bottoms, I opted for a pair of slim, slightly distressed boyfriend jeans from J. Crew. To make the look unique, I wore my suede spiked Christian Louboutin heels (that Bugsy bought me for my birthday last year! good husband!) and accessorized with an oversized gold chain, gold watch, gold cuff and croc bucket bag.

Style Tip: Your denim pieces do not have to coordinate in color.  In fact, a slight contrast in your denim on denim will keep things from looking too matchy matchy.
