What could be more perfect than a romantic date night at Babbo? By far one of our favorite restaurants in NYC, I was elated when Bugsy serendipitously scored us a weekend reservation at this West Village classic.
I contemplated a casual look for the occasion (since just about anything goes in NYC so long as it’s styled), but I opted for something a little more special for the night. Like most New Yorkers, more than half of my wardrobe is black. So a good, like really good, LBD (little black dress) is a wardrobe staple. I recently purchased a black satin and lace bustier dress with criss-cross straps that gave my current LBD collection a much needed update. To keep the outfit light and dinner appropriate (this pretty one could easily be worn to a wedding or cocktail event), I paired it with a vegan leather blush pink motorcycle jacket. Not only does the blush motorcycle jacket inject a little spring accent, but its casual silhouette keeps the outfit from looking too formal. As a petite girl, you can never go wrong with a point toe nude pump to elongate the legs, so I did. For jewelry, I opted for classic pearl studs and a pearl and gold leaf cuff (I just love the juxtaposition of classic super feminine accents (i.e. pearls) against modern/edgy silhouettes (i.e. biker jacket, criss-cross/bustier top). Finally, I threw on my new favorite Tom Ford oversized Anoushka sunglasses and carried a simple black leather envelope clutch.
