Cartagena Outfit Diary: Day 4 – Black Crop Top, Gray Wrap Skirt, Nude Pink Bikini, Panama Hat and Mirrored Sunglasses

After a long (and painfully hot) day of sightseeing the day before, we were ready for  some beach time and were off to another private island in the Islas del Rosario (Rosario Islands) on our fourth day in Cartagena.

I find that beachwear can oftentimes be a little tricky (or leave you self-conscious) when getting to the beach requires traversing (bashfully) in a city setting (in your new super cute, but very sheer tunic) before reaching your destination.  So, this summer, I purchased a few simple pieces that are light enough to wear to the beach, but tailored (and not transparent) enough to avoid pseudo-naked city walks of shame, and I was glad I had them for our trip.

For our island/beach day, I wore a black cotton crop top (likely the most versatile piece in my wardrobe right now) and gray jersey wrap skirt (that shows just enough leg to be sexy) over a nude pink bikini, and paired it with my trusty metallic havaianas, nautical striped denim tote and flash lens Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunnies. I was also excited to break out  some of my new street buys from the trip, a perfect off-white panama hat and turquoise beaded wrap bracelet (that can also be worn as a necklace).
