On our second night in Cartagena, after a long day in the sun and with a fresh tan, I couldn’t wait to wear my pink and white striped twosie from Lipsy and my new caged snakeskin heels from Schutz.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved wearing coordinates and was thrilled when this mid 90’s trend came back with a vengeance last year. As a tween, I’d design and have my mom sew matching tank and skort outfits from fabrics we’d choose from our local fabric store in an array of tacky prints (mom is such a talented lady). I like to think of this super cute Lipsy set as my homage to those plaid and cartoon print twosies of yore.
Now, let’s talk about these SHOES! For months, I had been coveting these caged heels from Schutz and after a boozy brunch with MM a few weeks ago, we both ended up with a pair of new heels (success!). Completely torn between the array of colors, I opted for (with a little encouragement from MM) the Juliana in snake print.
I’m a huge fan of pattern play, which led me to this striped top/skirt and snake print pair-up (no, not everything has to match – think neutrals with neutrals). I finished the look with my Valentino satchel (in an attempt to keep my bag underweight I only brought 3 bags on the trip, so you’ll be seeing this beauty a few times) and these gorgeous mini pearl and crystal earrings that are shaped like a coral reef (I thought it was appropriate given the locale).
