Last weekend, I met VL for a long overdue catch-up and wedding prep session over a decadent brunch at The Clocktower in the Edition Hotel (if you haven’t stopped in, it’s totally worth a visit…everything about the hotel is impressive…from the gorgeous lobby bar with the most extensive cocktail menu I’ve seen in a long time to the gilded second floor bar and billiard room surrounded by an amazing array of black and white photography). I was familiar with the space and (the equally fance) clientele, and knew I could get away with something a little more luxe than typical weekend brunch attire.
Recently, I found myself staring at my (scarily overflowing) closet and wondering why I seem to only own dresses (anyone who knows me well knows I prefer wearing a dress over having to match separates any day of the week) and picked up a few cute tops to diversify my wardrobe. One I could not wait to wear is a blush feather cami (that can make just about any outfit fun). It’s still a little chilly here in NYC, so I paired it with a light pink linen blazer (I just love wearing shades of the same color) and super high waist medium blue skinny jeans. To keep the hue of the outfit in the blush family, I also wore a nude quilted crossbody bag and natural weave stilettos. For accessories, I wore all recent finds from antiquing in Essex, MA a few weekends ago, a large gold chain bracelet and gold and silver medallion earrings. To finish the look, I threw on a pair of oversized tortoise sunnies with gold hardware.
Other ways to wear the feather cami: The feather cami is a great way to jazz up any “normal” outfit by adding texture, like the way I did with a simple blazer and jeans. You can also wear it with a leather mini for a night look or nude, blush or white midi pencil skirt for a more refined evening look.
