Anniversary Romance: Open Back Lace Dress, Glittery Jimmy Choo Criss-Cross Sandals, Gucci Mini Chain Bag and Vintage Chanel Earrings

It’s wedding season!

Just a year ago, I, like most brides-to-be, waited until the very last minute to find “bridey” (you know, “bridal inspired”) dresses for my various wedding-related events (i.e. engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, engagement shoot, etc. etc. etc.) and struggled to find outfits that were special enough for the occasions. So, as our first anniversary approached, I didn’t wait to make the same mistake and started looking just a tiny bit early for something befitting the special occasion (and what girl doesn’t want to continue to wear bridal inspired clothing post-wedding anyway?)

It’s been a while since I’ve shopped at Intermix (since their price points can be steep), but during their Summer Sale (which is still going on), I found the dreamiest open cross-back lace dress that I just couldn’t walk away from. What is more romantic (and bridal) than a delicate lace dress? So, with this nude with white lace overlay dress I opted for gold/champagne-toned accessories. I wore a pair of glittery Jimmy Choo criss-cross sandals to highlight the dress’ criss-cross back (these shimmery pretties were the replacements for my wedding heels that broke during an epic dance battle at the reception), a Gucci mini chain bag (delicate enough for the dress, but fun enough to not look too serious), vintage Chanel clip on earrings (I didn’t want to wear anything dangly to compete with the high neckline), a gold tassel necklace (to break up the monotony of the lace and to add a slightly casual element without causing too much distraction), and a large domed crystal ring.

Style Tip: Pairing the right bag and shoes with a white, off-white or nude outfit can be tricky and distracting, so always go with neutrals (nude-toned, metallic, i.e. silver or gold, or champagne).
