NYFW SS/18 was a whirlwind of amazing moments, but Day 5 was likely my favorite because of the absolutely incredible Hakan Akkaya show and my outfit of the day. Known for edgy silhouettes, hard lines and collections filled with black and white, I wanted to wear something minimalistic and monochromaitc for the show, and opted for an all cream look (and yes, I’m all about white after Labor Day).
To create the look, I wore an oversized ecru button down top with pearl details that I styled off one shoulder for a little edge (style tip: for a fresh and instantly chic take on your classic white button down, try undoing a few more buttons and draping if off one shoulder) and paired it with a cream knit asymmetrical mini skirt. To keep the look a little undone and breezy, I only tucked the front of the top into the skirt and left the back loose and flowing. To be sure I didn’t stray too far from fall, I opted for over the knee velvet navy boots. Finally for accessories, I carried a vintage Ferragamo envelope clutch, wore Chanel cat eye sunglasses and a pair of exaggerated oversized gold hoop earrings.
