Heading out on New Year’s Day for a day of shopping and casual friend meet-ups, I needed something comfy and warm enough (it’s finally winter weather here in NYC) to trot around the city, but cute enough to pop into a resto or bar. After all, the first outfit of the year should always be an amazing one!
To start the year in true NYC style, I opted for an all black moto inspired look. Two trends I have been absolutely obsessed with this season are leather pants/skinnies (which have been pretty popular since last fall/winter and really a must have for your fall/winter wardrobe) and sneakers (I mean what girl wouldn’t be thrilled about a shoe trend that is actually comfortable?). So, why not wear both trends together?
I paired a simple black knit turtleneck (a true winter staple) with the softest pair of black leather skinnies and my new black suede slip-on sneakers from Schutz. To compliment the moto inspired look, I threw on a black leather biker jacket that has the coziest oversized fur collar. For accessories, I wore a super warm cable knit black beanie with oversized pom-pom, tortoise Dolce & Gabbana sunnies, a gold Gucci mini chain bag (just for a little sparkle and shine) and finished the look with a deep red lip (for a little pop of color).
